Job description

The Role

The purpose of this role is to control inventory and plan demand for the Rock Tools Region Southern Africa.

Key Performance Areas
  1. Lead the area Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings for areas of responsibility.
  2. Collect forecast data, perform gap or trend analysis, and recommend process improvements.
  3. Communicate and collaborate on forecasting and inventory management data with regional stakeholders.
  4. Provide feedback and make recommendations to regions to ensure orders align with forecasts.
  5. Support internal departments to improve inventory management.
  6. Maintain inventory parameters in collaboration with regional managers.
  7. Perform replenishment planning based on forecasts.
  8. Release orders according to system requisitions and customer orders.
  9. Manage expediting requests from regions.
  10. Conduct detailed inventory analysis and optimize levels.
  11. Establish short- and long-term inventory strategies with stakeholders.
  12. Monitor inventory indicators such as fill rate, obsolete/slowing-moving inventory, days-in-inventory, order fulfillment lead time, forecast accuracy, and airfreight.
  13. Provide backup support to team members when required.

  • Matric / equivalent qualification
  • BCom in Supply Chain Management
  • Knowledge of S&OP process
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience in root cause analysis
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to implement process changes
  • Good presentation skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience with forecasting tools
  • Valid driver’s license
