Cipla Africa is seeking a Demand Planner for Supply Chain Management in Cape Town. In-Office role within the Integrated Planning department, reporting to the Demand Planning Manager.

The position focuses on developing and maintaining forecast models to meet sales targets while optimizing stock levels and costs. Qualified candidates will have a tertiary degree, 3+ years of experience, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of forecasting methods.

• Experience in forecasting and knowledge of forecasting methods is essential.
• Strong analytics and numerics skills required.
• Advanced Excel skills are essential.

Job Purpose

Develop and maintain forecast models for the business, using the allocated supply chain resources and demand processes, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, supply chain and other resources in order to ensure that the business meets agreed sales targets at minimum operating costs, and optimum stock levels.

Accountabilities

• Manage and create demand forecast, analyse trends and measure performance to ensure accurate forecast and alignment with business plans.
• Monitor and analyse forecast reports to ensure that forecast reports are accurate and provide meaningful information to the relevant stakeholders.
• Manage Inventory targets to ensure availability of stock to meet current and future demand.
• Manage and maintain demand planning systems and procedures to ensure accuracy in data documentation and incorporating market intelligence.

Qualification and Relevant Experience

• Relevant tertiary degree or Diploma in Business/ Finance / Industrial Engineering/ Logistics Management.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience
• Good working knowledge of analytics and numerics
• Good working knowledge of advanced excel is essential
• Experience in forecasting and knowledge of forecasting methods
• SAP/APO, or Oracle Demand Planning or other software related to demand planning
