Job description

An industry leader in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) space is on the lookout for a Purchasing / Demand Manager to join their dynamic team. This key role focuses on enhancing distribution centre (DC) sales, strengthening retailer relationships, hitting gross profit targets, and growing market share through strategic buying and smart stock planning.

Role Highlights:

  • Coordinate and oversee promotional activity
  • Drive sales growth and meet profit objectives
  • Maintain competitive pricing and protect retailer margins
  • Deliver exceptional service levels to retail partners
  • Implement effective controls to monitor category performance
  • Champion new product development
  • Manage warehouse stock in line with financial targets
  • Evaluate and manage supplier performance in pricing, product quality, and service delivery
  • Lead negotiations on supplier terms and service agreements
  • Oversee departmental admin and budget control
  • Provide strategic leadership to both the Marketing team and retail network

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience within the FMCG environment
  • Degree or diploma in Marketing or Advertising (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven success in developing emerging suppliers into compliant partners
  • Strong track record of working cross-functionally within supply chain teams
  • Solid computer literacy and strong commercial decision-making ability
  • Effective negotiator with entrepreneurial drive
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
  • A strategic thinker who can trade assertively and develop robust marketing initiative
