Job summary

Trianz is seeking an experienced Delivery Project Manager to lead large-scale technology programs from Johannesburg. The role requires managing multiple workstreams, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring delivery excellence across migration and modernization efforts.

You will oversee governance, budgets, and schedules, while driving risk management and quality initiatives. The ideal candidate has extensive IT program management experience and a track record in AWS migrations.

Qualifications

• 13+ years of IT Infrastructure/Development experience.
• 7+ years in IT program management with 2–3 AWS cloud migrations.
• Experience migrating 500 servers and 20–40 applications.
• Experience in Cloud Transformation across AWS.
• Legacy-to-cloud modernization and microservices at enterprise scale.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall and Hybrid delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple workstreams across complex projects.

Delivery Project Manager

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa. Hybrid – 3 days from office

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Delivery Project Manager to lead large-scale technology programs and ensure successful delivery across multiple project workstreams, teams, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of dedicated experience & background in project management, client engagement, resource planning, financial governance, and delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple workstreams across complex projects.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project roadmap for application portfolio migration & modernization
• Drive project planning, execution, governance, risk management, and successful outcomes.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and delivery milestones.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to align delivery with business objectives.
• Establish project governance mechanisms and provide regular status updates to leadership.
• Identify, track, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies across workstreams.
• Provide executive-level visibility into project health, risk status, and schedule variance

• Maintain regular cadence with client IT leadership, business process owners, and operations teams including Monthly / Quarterly Steering committee reviews.
• Ensure all migration and modernisation services and deliverables are executed within agreed timelines, quality standards, and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate change requests and ensure all scope, schedule, and commercial amendments follow formal governance and change control processes.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Minimum 13 plus years of IT Infrastructure / Development experience
• 7 plus years of experience in IT program management, with 2–3 successful AWS cloud migration programs.
• Proven ability to manage migration projects involving 500 servers and 20–40 applications.
• Experience in Cloud Transformation across AWS (required)
• Ability to spearhead application migration & modernization programs including legacy monolithic-to-microservices modernizations at enterprise scale.
• Strong experience managing large-scale technology delivery programs.
• Proven track record of delivering complex digital transformation, cloud, data, or application modernization initiatives.
• Strong exposure to legacy-to-cloud refactoring, containerization, and database modernizations.
• Expertise in program governance, budgeting, resource management, and stakeholder management.
• Experience working with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage distributed and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with .NET / C# and Java / Spring Boot enterprise ecosystems.
• Familiarity with Microservices, Event-Driven Architectures, RESTful APIs, and cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, or Agile certifications.
• Background in collaborating with Enterprise Architects on cloud-native migration strategies.
