Delivery Channel Manager – Midrand, Gauteng

We're looking for a savvy, results-driven Delivery Channel Manager to oversee and optimise our food and product delivery operations.
You'll be the key link between our restaurants, internal dispatch teams, and third-party platforms like Mr D, Takealot, and Uber Eats.

Deliver smooth, efficient operations, boost customer satisfaction, and scale delivery performance across all channels.
Key Responsibilities - Duties include but not limited to :
- Oversee day-to-day management of all delivery channels – internal drivers, restaurant deliveries, and 3rd-party platforms.
- Monitor order flow, dispatch times, and delivery KPIs to ensure on-time delivery and order accuracy.
- Coordinate with kitchen, warehouse, and packaging teams to streamline prep-to-delivery workflows.
- Manage relationships and SLAs with delivery partners like Mr D, Takealot, Uber Eats, and others.
- Ensure product / menu / catalogue updates are accurate and promotions are live across all platforms.
- Handle onboarding and operational troubleshooting for all third-party vendor portals.
- Track channel-specific performance metrics: delivery times, cancellations, ratings, and customer feedback.
- Provide actionable insights and weekly reports to drive improvements and resolve bottlenecks.
- Identify and implement opportunities to expand and improve delivery offerings and geographic reach.
- Contribute to pricing strategies, delivery fees, and campaign planning with marketing and finance teams.
- Innovate and test new delivery methods (bike vs car, scheduled vs instant, etc.) for efficiency.
- Lead, train, and motivate delivery drivers and support staff.
- Implement shift planning, route optimisation, and real-time issue resolution.
- Foster a service-first, customer-obsessed team culture.
Key Requirements
- 3+ years experience in logistics, food delivery, e-commerce, or a related operations role.
- Solid understanding of delivery tech platforms and apps (Mr D, Uber Eats, Takealot, etc.).
- Strong communication and coordination skills — must love spinning plates!
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and make quick, smart decisions.
- Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets, delivery dashboards, and POS / inventory systems.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage tight turnarounds, and keep your cool.
- Own transport a plus for site visits and shift-based availability.
Nice to Have
- Experience in restaurant or food tech operations.
- Background in last-mile logistics.
- Familiarity with route planning tools or delivery management software.
- Flair for problem-solving and streamlining chaotic environments.
