Job description

Overview : An exciting career opportunity exists for a Deformation Monitoring / Business Development Manager within our client's offices in Centurion.

Purpose of the role : To promote Deformation Monitoring solutions to new and existing customers across industries such as mines, dams, and other structures. The role involves liaising with the implementation team to ensure seamless customer transitions and satisfaction. The manager will also be responsible for maintaining OEM relationships, staying updated on new product developments, and identifying opportunities.

Qualifications / Experience : Degree or diploma in Geotechnical, Surveying, or Engineering fields. Practical experience in the Geotechnical industry, especially in mining, is required. Business development experience or sales acumen is advantageous.

Key Duties :

  1. Budget and Sales Forecast : Establish annual sales budgets, provide forecasts, and meet or exceed targets. Maintain and update the DM product price book in collaboration with OEMs and Technical Field Services.
  2. Order Generation : Consult with customers to understand their needs, translate these into technical solutions, and prepare presentations and quotations. Support sales representatives with solutions, trends, and tools to generate leads.
  3. Order Fulfilment : Liaise with Technical Field Services regarding customer requirements and delivery expectations to ensure satisfaction.
  4. Post Implementation Support : Ensure customer satisfaction with solutions and provide proposals for support and maintenance agreements.
  5. OEM Relationship Management : Manage commercial and operational relationships with OEMs, staying informed about training and support functions, market trends, and customer needs.
  6. Marketing : Collaborate with marketing to update the website, develop case studies, and execute targeted campaigns.

Skills / Knowledge : Excellent communication, understanding of industry applications, solutions implementation, IT proficiency, and ability to work independently. Analytical and customer-focused approach.

Attitude / Approach : Demonstrates accountability, integrity, reliability, and professionalism in all dealings.

Physical & Work Environment : As required, with a valid driver's license, own transport, and willingness to travel.
