Job description

Our client is looking for an energetic Debtors Manager to effectively manage the Debtors functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and improving business and financial processes, managing the Debtors team, producing financial reports and planning for the long-term financial goals of the team and business.

Reporting to the Group Financial Manager, responsibilities include:

  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders in the business

  • Monthly and weekly reporting to Business Units highlighting problem debtors

  • Managing all intercompany billings
  • Month-end processing i.e. accurate matching customer payments to invoices, resolving customer queries, reporting accurate balances, ensuring customer control aligns with the GL, and ensuring unallocated payments are allocated
  • Monthly Debtors Balance Forecasting
  • Account receivable year end audit
  • Approving bank activations for debit orders, and approving weekly debit order deductions
  • Master Data maintenance i.e. vat no, contact details
  • Formalising SOPs and embedding them in the team and business
  • Recruitment
  • Full team management

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of management accounting principles and practices

  • Leadership, people and interpersonal skills (ability to manage a large team)

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good communication skills - verbal and written
  • Advanced computer literacy
  • Detailed knowledge of interest calculations
  • Budget / Forecasting knowledge
