Job description

PwC is seeking an experienced corporate tax specialist to join its Deals Tax team, a specialized unit within the larger Corporate and International Tax advisory department.

Qualifications / Certifications required
  • Relevant professional qualification (CA(SA) and/or Admitted Attorney)
  • Postgraduate studies in Corporate Tax would be ideal
Experience required
  • 4-7 years' experience in a Corporate Tax advisory environment with exposure to:
  • Advising clients on structuring business transactions, restructures, M&A activity, and the tax implications
  • Drafting tax opinions and structuring decks
  • Assistance with due diligence reviews
  • Research and interpretation of complex tax issues and legislation
  • Liaison with SARS and Counsel on complex tax matters
  • Implementation support for transactions, including review of financial models and legal documents from a tax perspective
Responsibilities of the role
  • Manage client portfolios and meet revenue targets
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, ensuring high-quality, timely deliverables
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior team members
  • Perform technical reviews of work prepared by others
  • Report to a Partner/Director for sign-off
  • Support sales strategies and ensure compliance with risk policies
  • Stay updated with tax legislation and develop expertise in digital tools
