PwC is seeking an experienced corporate tax specialist to join its Deals Tax team, a specialized unit within the larger Corporate and International Tax advisory department.
Qualifications / Certifications required
- Relevant professional qualification (CA(SA) and/or Admitted Attorney)
- Postgraduate studies in Corporate Tax would be ideal
Experience required
- 4-7 years' experience in a Corporate Tax advisory environment with exposure to:
- Advising clients on structuring business transactions, restructures, M&A activity, and the tax implications
- Drafting tax opinions and structuring decks
- Assistance with due diligence reviews
- Research and interpretation of complex tax issues and legislation
- Liaison with SARS and Counsel on complex tax matters
- Implementation support for transactions, including review of financial models and legal documents from a tax perspective
Responsibilities of the role
- Manage client portfolios and meet revenue targets
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, ensuring high-quality, timely deliverables
- Provide coaching and mentorship to junior team members
- Perform technical reviews of work prepared by others
- Report to a Partner/Director for sign-off
- Support sales strategies and ensure compliance with risk policies
- Stay updated with tax legislation and develop expertise in digital tools
