Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Stikland, Cape Town seeks a DC Inbound Junior Retail Assistant Manager to drive operational excellence within the Distribution Centre, focusing on inbound processes and stock control. The ideal candidate has a Matric, a logistics/Supply Chain qualification, and at least 2 years in distribution or supply chain roles. SAP/EWM ERP exposure is advantageous.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Receive, check, process and put away supplier deliveries within agreed timelines.
• Plan delivery schedules and staffing requirements.
• Maintain FEFO (First Expiry First Out) stock rotation.
• Ensure stock is not expired and handled per Dis-Chem policies.
• Resolve internal/external supply chain queries and communicate effectively.

Job description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ in Stikland, Cape Town has an opportunity available for a DC Inbound Junior Retail Assistant Manager to join the team. The main purpose of this role will be to achieve operational excellence within the Dis-Chem Distribution Centre, incorporating inbound management predominantly. You will also be required to demonstrate an understanding of receiving, warehousing, picking/ packing, replenishment, manifesting/ marshalling and dispatch, in order to meet legal and operational requirements.

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Relevant Degree/Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
• Minimum 2 Years relevant experience in Distribution, Logistics or Supply Chain Environment

Advantageous:

• Relevant experience in the field of Logistics/Supply Chain Management
• Experience in the Retail/Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Experience with SAP, EWM or other ERP systems

Job Specification…

• Ensure all supplier deliveries are received, checked, processed and put away within agreed timelines and according to Dis-Chem Policies and Procedures
• Analyse and interpret all potential departmental shrinkage indicators and act accordingly
• Plan the delivery schedules and staff requirements
• Maintain a stock rotation on an inventory based on FEFO (First Expiry First Out) principle
• Ensure expired and reject stock are dealt with on a timely basis and according to necessary SHE standards
• Manage shelf life to ensure no short dated and/or expired stock is received as per Dis-Chem policies
• Work with QA team to ensure stock is on the acceptable industry standard
• Develop and Implement solutions for addressing seasonal demand, shipments and/or unique packaging
• Manage the safe storage, exchanging and flow of Dis-Chem, CHEP and EURO pallets
• Ensure training of new staff in that they have the necessary tools and equipment required to perform their duties efficiently
• Monitor staff performance including performance reviews
• Management and adherence to GWP, SHE program and OHS act
• Effective and efficient resolution and communication of internal and external customer day-to-day queries
• Build and maintain good relationships with all 3rd party stakeholders and communicate effectively to resolve any supply chain issues
• Ensure that all deliveries are delivered in full, on time and to the correct customer
• Identify supplier issues that impact required financial objectives and address them at the appropriate level internally and externally
• Proactively identify cost saving opportunities with expert insight into to true improvements and their ability to be effectively implemented
• Manage financial indicators in line with budgets for the operations environment and adherence to corporate governance principles
