Placements24 is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage and maintain critical database systems in Sandton. You will install, configure, and tune databases across SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MySQL, ensuring security, backups, and performance.

Collaboration with developers and system admins is essential in this role. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of DBA experience, strong SQL skills, and a solid understanding of backup/recovery and encryption strategies.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with database administration tools.
• Strong understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and backup/recovery strategies.
• Experience with at least one major relational database management system.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.

Responsibilities
