Under the guidance of more senior IT Data Architects, the IT Data Specialist applies data analysis, data modelling, and quality assurance techniques based on a detailed understanding of business processes to establish, modify, or maintain internal data structures and associated components (entity, relationship, and attribute descriptions). They develop and maintain a formal description of the internal data and data structures of the business, which can include data definitions, data models, data flow diagrams, and metadata.

The IT Data Specialist is a technologist with a strong background in application and IT Data Architectures within the context of IT Enterprise Architecture. They have cross-domain knowledge and attend to the data needs of internal clients, potentially working across domains and functions. A critical skill for this role is the ability to convert and migrate medium-sized amounts of data between databases, whether implementing new enterprise applications, consolidating, upgrading, modernizing, virtualizing, or migrating to another service. A focus on data migration is essential for project success. The core focus areas include:

Requirements

• High School Certification.
• ITIL V3 / 4 Foundation Certification.
• At least 3 years of experience in business analysis, informatics, and outcomes research within a fast-paced, complex business environment.
• Experience with probability and statistics, time-series analysis, and machine learning methods such as linear regression, correlation, and statistical significance.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working on data warehouse projects with dimensional models.
• Understanding of SAFe methodology.
• Experience with Power BI for dashboard creation, data visualization, and reporting.
• Strong time management, autonomy, problem-solving, and logical thinking skills.
