Position: Data Scientist II - Pricing

Description: This role is within WesBank Retail and supports providing customer-centric pricing for credit risk inherent in the WesBank portfolio, ensuring sustainable returns for shareholders.

This dynamic environment requires the successful candidate to work closely with internal stakeholders such as Sales, Credit, IT, Finance, and FRM. The candidate will also take ownership of executing pricing-related IT initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and deploy models for predictive analytics (customer behavior, risk scoring, price elasticity)
  • Data analytics within Pricing, Credit, and Financial Resource Management (FRM)
  • Pricing or profitability modeling of credit products/portfolios
  • Model monitoring, optimization, and deployment
  • Utilize visualization tools like Tableau/PowerBI
  • Intermediate to advanced SQL & SAS coding
  • Proficiency in Python/R is beneficial
  • Technical documentation and process mapping

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • B Degree in Mathematical Sciences, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or Engineering
  • Honours Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant data science experience in Credit Risk or Lending
