About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Data Scientist specializing in Bioinformatics for a fully remote position. You will leverage your expertise in data analysis, machine learning, and biological data to drive insights from complex genomic and proteomic datasets. This role is critical for uncovering patterns, developing predictive models, and supporting our research initiatives aimed at discovering novel therapeutic targets. You will work with a global, distributed team of scientists and engineers, contributing to impactful research in a flexible, remote-first setting. The ideal candidate is passionate about applying advanced computational techniques to solve challenging biological problems and accelerating scientific discovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic datasets to identify patterns and biological insights.
• Develop and implement machine learning models for predictive analytics in drug discovery and development.
• Design and execute computational experiments, and develop novel algorithms for biological data analysis.
• Collaborate with biologists and chemists to interpret results and guide experimental design.
• Build and maintain data pipelines for processing and managing complex biological information.
• Communicate findings and methodologies clearly through presentations and technical reports.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Bioinformatics , Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience in analyzing large biological datasets using Python or R.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms and statistical modeling techniques.
• Experience with genomic data analysis tools and platforms (e.g., GATK, Samtools).
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for remote teamwork.
