Placements24 is seeking an experienced Data Scientist for a fully remote role based in Bloemfontein, Free State, ZA. You will design, train, and deploy AI models to transform raw data into actionable insights and predictive capabilities across industries.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform feature engineering, monitor model performance, and communicate results to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong Python, ML libraries, SQL, and visualization skills are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of experience in data science or machine learning, with a proven track record of building predictive models.
• Proficiency in Python and relevant libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and evaluation metrics.
• Experience with SQL and database management.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, particularly in a remote team setting.
