About the Role:

Fund Data at Allocator is the engine that drives our growth, and our Data Team is the beating heart of that engine. Our Data Relationship Managers are the first point of contact for new and existing Hedge Funds and Private Capital Funds submitting data to Allocator. This is a highly visible role working in an important team that makes a direct and significant impact in our business.

Additionally, the Data Relationship Manager (DRM) role provides boundless opportunities for both personal and professional growth. In this role you will influence and be involved in all aspects of the Data Relationship Management process and will work closely with the customer success, sales, product and technology teams, taking responsibility for data coverage, quality, and timeliness to the highest standards. You will focus on building and influencing DRM operational processes and are tasked with pro-active engagement strategies to provide the highest quality data service to our existing and prospective customers. The unique blend of external and internal responsibilities will allow you to develop your skills in multiple areas, while taking on pro-active projects to build out Allocators next generation of data services.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Fund Coverage & Account Ownership

  • Fully own assigned fund relationships, serving as the main contact for all data-related matters.
  • Ensure fund data is consistently accurate and up to date, proactively resolving data gaps and maintaining correct distribution lists.
  • Maintain accurate GP contact and company details in the Allocator Platform to support automation; treat it as an active CRM.
  • Communicate directly with customers, keeping the Customer Success team informed.


Onboarding & Process Management

  • Lead onboarding of new managers and funds, working with internal teams to exceed KPIs.
  • Track onboarding progress using the Allocator Platform and Jira; manage related tasks.
  • Keep customers updated on onboarding status and ongoing pro-active funds updates.
  • Run quarterly requested funds checks, confirming new investments and redemptions.

Data Quality & Collection Oversight

  • Own data quality and integrity processes, with clear KPIs on timeliness and accuracy.
  • Detect and resolve data issues by coordinating with managers, internal teams, and clients.
  • Continuously improve onboarding, data collection, and storage workflows.
  • Document and enhance proactive data collection methods.

Product & Technology Collaboration

  • Collaborate with data, tech, and analytics teams to automate and enhance DRM workflows.
  • Support development of new tools for data submission and analytics layers to increase client value.

Reporting & Communication

  • Deliver clear data summaries and insights through tables, charts, and reports.
  • Maintain and update internal documentation, including outreach manuals.
  • Provide regular client updates, including:
    • Monthly data reviews for hedge fund clients
    • Weekly trackers during reporting season for private capital clients
  • Attend all weekly client calls, as well as ad hoc and quarterly review meetings.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient oral and written communication skills – clear communication is key as this is an external facing role
  • Collaborate well in a team environment, have the ability to communicate and work with team members from diverse backgrounds, in a conscientious and inclusive way
  • Solid understanding of the alternatives financial industry and passionate about investment data
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, capable of handling high volumes of data, high number of out bound calls; and meeting strict deadlines
  • You will be collaborating with cross functional teams and leading from the front when it comes to Fund Data so experience within fund industry is a big plus
  • Previous experience in project management, Investor Relations or Data Science is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is desirable
  • CFA, CAIA or master’s in finance or equivalent would be beneficial
