Job summary

The Data Maintenance Controller at Cre8work! will ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems, updating master data, validating information, and supporting data governance.

You will reconcile data between reports and source documents and raise issues for correction. The role requires 2-3 years in data maintenance, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric or equivalent is required.
• Diploma or certificate in data management, IT, business administration or related field is advantageous.
• 2-3 years experience in data maintenance, data administration, data capturing, or master data management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with databases or ERP systems is advantageous.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update master data and operational records across relevant systems.
• Capture, amend, and validate data accurately within agreed turnaround times.
• Review data for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and duplication.
• Identify and investigate data discrepancies and coordinate corrections with relevant departments.
• Conduct regular data quality checks and audits.
• Ensure data changes are properly authorised and documented.
• Maintain accurate records of data amendments and updates.
• Monitor data maintenance requests and ensure timely processing.
• Reconcile information between systems, reports and source documents.
• Generate and maintain data quality and exception reports.
• Escalate recurring data issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with data cleansing, standardisation, and improvement initiatives.
• Maintain controls to protect data accuracy and integrity.
• Ensure confidential information is handled per policies.
• Maintain proper documentation and filing of supporting records.
• Liaise with internal/external stakeholders to resolve data queries.
• Support system upgrades and data migrations.
• Adhere to governance and data protection standards.
