As part of the Future Planning & Resilience directorate and Policy & Strategy
department, the Data Science Team plays a crucial central role within the City
of Cape Town. We are a collaborative team, working closely with colleagues across
various departments on a wide range of initiatives. Our mission is to harness the
power of data to provide clarity, reduce uncertainty, and guide the organisation
towards effective actions that improve the lives of Cape Town residents
As the Data Product Coordinator, you will ensure the operational effectiveness and
seamless functioning of the City’s Data Analytic Hub by providing comprehensive
coordination and administrative support to enable the team to focus on delivering
operational and strategic data insights
Requirements:
• Relevant 3 Year Tertiary Qualification
• At least 5 years’ relevant experience
• We're looking for someone with:
o Proven experience in a senior administrative role.

o Strong proficiency with modern collaboration tools
o An ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technical
environment.
Key Performance Areas:
• Facilitate the planning, scheduling, and execution of
data analytics training programs for the city
• Support change management for data projects and initiatives,
helping to ensure smooth adoption and user readiness
• Manage the administrative aspects of the procurement
lifecycle for data analytics tools, software, services,
and training, ensuring compliance with City policies
• Project manage tenders
• Oversee the administrative lifecycle of contracts to ensure
compliance, timely renewals, and proper record-keeping
• Plan, coordinate, and execute internal and external events
hosted or supported by the team
• Provide administrative assistance to support the logistics
,implementation, communication, and tracking of
the organisation's data strategy initiatives
• Assist in the preparation, formatting, and maintenance
of technical documentation, ensuring clarity, consistency,
and adherence to standards
Provide support for the development and feedback of various
City scorecards
• Provide administrative support for temporary staff (e.g)
contractors, interns) ensuring they have the necessary logistical
setup and basic administrative guidance
• Create, maintain, and improve high-quality documentation
of data products.
