The Data Processing Clerk is responsible for collecting category-specific safety data, accurately and efficiently capturing this information in the relevant safety management systems and ensuring proper organisation and archiving of all safety-related records
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 or equivalent
Must have at least 2 years’ administration experience preferably within a mining industry Safety department
Working knowledge of Isometrix, Syncromine or any other safety management system
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment
Key Competencies
Proven personal safety record
Sound interpersonal relations, collaboration and good communication skills
Typing proficiency and ability to capture data accurately and efficiently.
Attention to detail and accuracy whilst working with large transactional volumes
Computer literate and competent in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Duties And Responsibilities
Ensure active participation in Safety campaigns or event as and when required
Execute tasks in accordance with established work requirements, instructions, targets, methods and processes to ensure quality of work and to safeguard the well-being and safety of oneself and others
Adherence to all applicable Company Policies, Standards and Procedures
Capture safety incidents and other relevant information promptly, accurately, and with attention to detail in the designated Safety System Databases
Maintain the integrity and accuracy of all data entered into safety systems in accordance with company policies and ISO standards
Ensure daily filing and proper organisation of incident reports and related records
Support the archiving of safety records in line with company procedures and ISO requirements
Maintaining office housekeeping practices to comply with South Deep’s Safety Standards
Provide assistance with general administrative duties as assigned by the responsible line manager
