About the team

The Data Operations Team is the custodian of the Security Master, Benchmark Master, and Portfolio Accounting products.

The team acts as the interface between the business and third-party vendors. The role involves frequent and close liaison with personnel at all levels, in both front and back-office environments, requiring a candidate committed to teamwork.

The team is responsible for the accuracy and maintenance of data. The role includes active involvement in data operations projects aimed at improving processes and creating efficiencies, including project involvement and data analysis.

In this role, you will:

  1. Maintain relationships with Portfolio Managers, Investment teams, Dealers, Performance & Risk, Client Operations, and Reporting teams. Understand their queries, the impact of data issues on their functions, manage expectations, and consider changes to prevent recurrence.
  2. Maintain relationships with the State Street Data team and assist in overseeing their activities.
  3. Maintain relationships with other data providers (Benchmark Data Providers) and assist in overseeing their activities.
  4. Review daily system and data reconciliations.
  5. Review NAV reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and communicate with impacted business users.
  6. Review valuations and analytics on securities required for trading.
  7. Maintain security static data.
  8. Assist with the implementation of new products and instruments from a data operations perspective.
  9. Continuously review and update processes and procedures to reduce risk and improve efficiency.

You should consider applying if you have:

  • B Comm / B Bus Sci or similar degrees with 3-5 years of relevant industry and operational experience.
  • Experience liaising with individuals at all levels and across functions.
  • Bloomberg experience.
  • Good Excel skills.
  • SQL knowledge is beneficial.
