Our client, a leading NPO in the education space, seeks a Knowledge and Data Manager to join its team in Cape Town or Johannesburg. You will oversee the foundation’s integrated data value chain—from data collection, standards and quality assurance to data integration, analytics, insight and knowledge outputs—helping measure, understand and enhance impact in the community.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in data science, information management, or related field.
• Certifications in data governance or analytics desirable.
• 8+ years in data/information/knowledge management.
• 3 years in a team leadership role.
• Experience applying data governance standards and quality frameworks.
• Familiarity with USS, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric or Azure data environments.
• Experience producing consolidated reporting for EXCO or Board.

Job description

Our client, a leading NPO in the education space, is seeking a Knowledge and Data Manager to join their team in Cape Town or Johannesburg.

You will be responsible for the foundation’s integrated data value chain, from data collection, standards and requirements, quality assurance and handoff, data integration and systems, analytics, insight, and knowledge outputs, assisting the Foundation to measure, understand, and enhance its impact in the community.

Qualification required:

• A relevant Honours degree (e.g. data science, information management, knowledge management, or a related field).
• Professional certifications in data governance, analytics, or information management are desirable.

Experience required:

• At least 8 years' experience in data, information, or knowledge management, including 3 years in a team leadership role.
• Experience applying data governance standards and quality frameworks across operational teams.
• Experience managing cross-team quality processes at the boundary between data operations and analytics or modelling.
• Experience producing consolidated reporting for senior stakeholders, including EXCO or Board-level audiences.
• Familiarity with integrated data, analytics, and reporting platforms such as USS, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, or Azure data environments.
• Experience using data to measure outcomes, evaluate effectiveness, and support strategic decisions and organisational learning.
