Role Overview: In this role, you will develop operational plans to support the data strategy and execute in your area of responsibility to derive value from data. You will also drive the adoption of the FirstRand Information Governance Framework and the Information Architecture policy within your area. Embedding information management within operational processes is key to this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prevent wastage and identify process improvements to contain and reduce costs.
  2. Contribute to the development of a budget aligned to operational delivery plans, monitor effectiveness, and report on variances.
  3. Build working relationships across teams and functions to enhance collaboration and innovation.
  4. Deliver excellent customer service by adhering to quality standards.
  5. Ensure compliance with statutory, legislative, policy, and governance requirements.
  6. Implement and promote governance and compliance procedures, identifying risks.
  7. Ensure alignment of data and goals with cost reduction and support costs.
  8. Ensure ethical data usage and compliance with privacy and sensitivity classifications.
  9. Implement data management standards and ensure data is meaningful and organizationally valuable.
  10. Manage data sourcing, modeling, storage, and consumption to meet business needs.
  11. Drive a data-driven culture and lead change management initiatives.
  12. Manage data integration and warehousing to support analytical needs.
  13. Ensure data security and mitigate privacy risks across supply chains.
  14. Define and implement data architecture principles.
  15. Oversee information management practices including metadata, master data, data quality, and security.
  16. Collaborate with technology teams to implement IT solutions supporting data management.
  17. Lead the business intelligence function to produce reports that meet requirements.
  18. Manage project dependencies and prioritize analytical initiatives.
  19. Demonstrate leadership and commitment to organizational values.
  20. Develop collaborative relationships across the organization.

Ideal Candidate Profile: Completed a BSc in Management Information Systems or a similar degree. 4-5 years of experience in Data Governance and Information Management.
