Datonomy Solutions (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Data Engineering & Analytics lead to oversee the organisation's data strategy, engineering function, and reporting capability. You will ensure reliable, scalable, and cost-effective data solutions to support business decisions and operational efficiency.

You will design and maintain robust data pipelines, drive standardised reporting metrics, and provide technical leadership to a data team, aligning initiatives with executive objectives and governance

Qualifications

• Experience leading data engineering, BI and data warehousing initiatives.
• Strong SQL proficiency and hands-on with modern data platforms.
• Proven ability to design and manage ETL/ELT pipelines at scale.
• Knowledge of data architecture principles and best practices.
• Experience in cloud cost management and optimisation.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee data strategy, engineering function, and reporting capability.
• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines across on-premise and cloud environments.
• Provide technical direction, mentorship, and oversight to the data team.
• Align data initiatives with business and executive objectives.
• Define and maintain data architecture (lakehouse, warehouse, hybrid).
• Manage cloud data platforms, storage and compute resources; optimise costs.
• Establish data governance frameworks, standards and policies.
