Job summary

Pbt-Group seeks a Data Engineer Test Lead to shape testing strategies for data and BI solutions in a hybrid work setting. You will lead data reconciliation, validation and quality checks and drive automated testing where feasible.

With 5–8 years in data QA and strong SQL/ETL experience, you will mentor testers and coordinate UAT with business users, ensuring smooth go-live and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of data and QA testing experience with lead/coordinator exposure.
• Advanced SQL and ETL/ELT testing experience required.
• Understanding of Kimball, Data Vault and data warehousing concepts.
• Ability to liaise with technical and business stakeholders effectively.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the test strategy for data and BI solutions across SIT, validation, regression and UAT.
• Design data reconciliation, validation and quality checks ensuring source-to-target integrity.
• Build repeatable test frameworks and implement automated data quality checks.
• Lead defect management, RCA and resolution; mentor testers and QA analysts.
• Coordinate UAT with business users and SMEs; manage risks and go-live readiness.

Our client, an established organization within the banking, financial services, and insurance sectors, is seeking a dedicated Data Engineer Test Lead to join their team. What You'll Do:

Define and own the test strategy across SIT, data validation, regression, and UAT for data and BI solutions.

Design and execute data reconciliation, validation, and quality checks, ensuring source-to-target integrity and adherence to business rules.

Build repeatable test frameworks and implement automated data quality checks where feasible.

Manage defect logging, triage, root-cause analysis, and resolution processes.

Lead and mentor a team of testers and QA analysts, coordinating testing resources and priorities.

Plan and coordinate UAT activities with business users and SMEs, including scope, scenarios, execution tracking, and sign-off.

Manage testing risks, dependencies, and readiness for go-live.

Engage stakeholders professionally, maintaining clear communication on testing progress and quality status.

Develop strong business acumen and credibility, contributing to overall project success.

Duties:

Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans and cases.

Collaborate with technical and business teams to ensure quality standards are met.

Lead testing efforts for data reconciliation, transformation, and validation.

Oversee defect management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

5–8 years of experience in data and QA testing, with at least 2 years in a lead or coordination role.

Advanced SQL skills (mandatory) and ETL/ELT testing experience.

Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts such as Kimball and Data Vault.

Strong planning, data analysis, and business acumen skills.

Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

Experience within the banking, financial services, or insurance industries.
