Job summary

WeconnectU is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build and maintain the data foundation connecting product, CRM, finance, and operations to trusted reporting and analytics. The role blends hands‑on data engineering, data modelling, and disciplined delivery across multiple departments.

You may use Snowflake or a comparable cloud platform, with a focus on scalable schemas, data quality, and end‑to‑end data contracts. Collaboration with Technology, Product, Finance and commercial teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of practical data engineering or analytics engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse/lakehouse.
• Strong SQL with automation, testing and production support.
• Experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs and scheduled workflows.
• Relational and dimensional data modelling, including CRM data models.
• Knowledge of Git, data governance, security and POPIA principles.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines from multiple data sources into a central data platform.
• Develop integrations using SQL, APIs, Python and cloud services.
• Design scalable schemas and data models for shared company and CRM data.
• Implement incremental loads, testing, logging, retries, alerting and monitoring.
• Write secure, version-controlled code and manage performance, access and cost.
• Map data flows across end-to-end processes and define sources of truth.
• Translate business requirements into data contracts, tasks and test cases.
• Create automated checks for data quality, completeness and reconciliation.
• Maintain CRM and customer-data solutions for Sales, Marketing, Customer Success and Operations.
• Run discovery with departments to model data needs into pipelines and outputs.
• Maintain data lineage and documentation.
