Data Engineer Business Analytics

A vacancy exists for a Data Engineer based at Life Healthcare Head Office, reporting to the Group: Data Development Manager. The suitable incumbent will have the opportunity to aid development of the enterprise data warehouse and related entities.

Critical Outputs

• Develop Data Objects as required by business.
• Data Mart Design and Development.
• SSIS Package creation.
• SSAS Tabular model design.
• Building assets on the Azure ADF platform.
• SQL Object optimization and development.
• Automation of deployment, customization, upgrades and monitoring through DevOps tools.

Requirements

• Minimum Qualification: degree/diploma in the field of Computer Science or Data programming.
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in Cloud Data Platforms.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in modernisation of SQL Server and Data Warehouses.
• Prior experience in migrating big data platforms from earlier to latest versions of the platforms.
• Proven track record in incorporating latest operational tools into big data platforms.
• Modification of Data Warehouses.
• Strong Knowledge of configuration management processes.
• Columnar Database experience.
• Experience with monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of SCM concepts using tools GIT, SVN etc.
• Fundamental knowledge of server’s / computer hardware and software.
• Fundamental knowledge of Load balancers, firewalls, TCP/IP protocols.
• Experience with performance tuning (using adv SQL operations).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical and technical audiences.
• Exposure to Reporting tools such as Power BI and SSRS.
