Job summary

Ten Lifestyle Group in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to build a robust, scalable data foundation for analytics and product decision‑making across the organisation.

You will design and maintain end‑to‑end data infrastructure from ingestion to delivery, collaborating with Data Analysts, Engineering, and Client Services to translate business needs into technical solutions. The role offers hybrid work with office days and a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years' experience building data pipelines using Python with hands-on coding.
• Proven experience with AWS Lambda and ECS.
• Strong knowledge with Airflow for ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Familiarity with Spark and Pandas.
• Experience building APIs and data delivery solutions with data cleansing and integration.
• Extensive SQL experience including transformations and validating data.

Responsibilities

• Establish data quality checks, validation, and governance standards.
• Build scalable data pipelines ingesting data from multiple sources into a central store.
• Develop clean data models ready for analysis and reporting.
• Create APIs and data delivery mechanisms for analytics and insights.
• Ensure data accessibility and performance; collaborate on architectural improvements.
• Design and operate scalable data infrastructure in AWS and implement CI/CD and IaC.
