We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join a dynamic team within a leading bank on a 24-month contract.
In this role, you will play a critical part in assessing and enhancing business processes through detailed data analysis, process modelling, and engineering.
Your insights will drive the improvement of process efficiency, effectiveness, and quality, supporting the department in achieving operational excellence.

Requirements Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Engineering, Informatics or Business Information Systems, Computer Systems 7 - 10 years relevant experience with at least 5 years proven work experience strictly in data engineering and data warehousing Banking or financial services industry experience required Knowledge and experience of data warehousing and data modelling (essential) Knowledge and experience of data privacy and related privacy policies (essential) Knowledge and experience on data migrations and data audits (essential) Knowledge and experience of cloud applications (essential) Experience in ETL tools such as Informatica and Oracle (advantageous) Experience in database technologies such as Teradata and Oracle (advantageous) Experience in PowerBI and SAS (advantageous) Experience in programming languages such as R and Python (advantageous) Experience with ML / AI capabilities (advantageous) Experience working with data governance frameworks such as DAMA (advantageous) Responsibilities Define business processes and value chains.
Identify, optimise and integrate business processes, value streams and operating model.
Interpret and implement industry process standards and frameworks (eg.
APQC, Togaf).
Analysis, design, development of business process to improve systems, data, information and people skills within specific functional areas.
Review current state processes and identify problem areas, inefficiencies and control weaknesses.
Proactively identify improvement opportunities and recommend alternative solutions to business owners.
Identify and assess automation opportunities within the organisation and provide recommendations for application.
Develop detailed business process flows and include how technology solutions will enable the business processes.
Contribute and advise on developing target operating models and related artifacts.
Provide process documentation and operating instructions.
Conduct and contribute to process asset management such as repository content management, methodology and related artifacts.
Collaborate with key stakeholders such as architects, SME's, process owners, and technical experts to ensure viable and sustainable solutions.
