Job description

The role is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Data Centre facility in its entirety, ensuring client MSA & SLA's are achieved.

Main functions :

• Data Centre Management :

Ensure compliance with working methods to achieve all SLA's and MSA's.

Manage data centre infrastructure to provide a concurrently maintainable, cost-effective system supporting 99.999% electrical uptime and 99.99% mechanical uptime.

Compliance :

Maintain compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.

Meet agreed inter-departmental OLA (Operational Level Agreement).

Monitor H&S and take corrective actions to meet statutory compliance, SLA's, and good business practices.

Critical System Management :

Ensure planned and corrective maintenance is managed to meet customer MSA's and SLA's.

Maintain agreed PUE levels through proper working methods.

Accurately finalize tasks and report within the agreed format, quality standards, and timelines.

Data Centre Ethics :

Maintain compliance with industry best practices.

Enforce and maintain data centre facilities standards and cleaning standards.

Key Performance Areas :

• Preventative and reactive maintenance of all building infrastructure systems.
• Maintenance and coordination of generators, UPS’s, Chiller plant, air-conditioning, switchgear, etc.
• Maintain Building Management Systems and monitor all equipment.
• Oversee power reticulation of all equipment in the building.
• Supervise new installations and all Building Services Contractors.
• Ensure reliability and maintenance of all building equipment and infrastructure.
• Perform first-line repairs on electrical, plumbing, and other building systems.
• Respond to building-related calls such as power issues, new plug installations, leaks, etc., prioritizing accordingly.
• Ensure control of works is in place and followed.
• Conduct building inspections and audits.
• Maintain thorough records of daily activities, equipment status, and operating parameters.
• Be proactive, helpful, use initiative, and willing to work extended hours.
• Willing to travel.
• Perform all activities timely.
