Job description

The role is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Data Centre facility in its entirety, ensuring client MSA & SLA's are achieved.

Main functions :

• Data Centre Management :

Comply with working methods, ensuring all SLA's and MSA's are achieved.

Management of data centre infrastructure to provide a concurrently maintainable, cost-effective system supporting 99.999% electrical uptime and 99.99% mechanical uptime.

Compliance :

Maintain compliance in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures.

Meet agreed inter-departmental OLA (Operational Level Agreement).

H&S Monitoring and corrective actions to meet statutory compliance, SLA's, and good business practices.

Critical System Management :

Ensure applicable planned and corrective maintenance is managed to meet customer MSA's and SLA's.

Conduct working methods to maintain agreed PUE levels.

Task finalization and reporting accurately, as per agreed format, quality, and timelines.

Data Centre Ethics :

Ensure compliance is maintained, incorporating industry best practices.

Ensure data centre facilities and cleaning standards are enforced and maintained.

Key Performance Areas :

• Preventative and reactive maintenance of all building infrastructure systems.
• The maintenance and coordination of generators, UPS’s, Chiller plant, air-conditioning, switchgear, etc.
• Maintaining the Building Management Systems and monitoring all equipment.
• Power reticulation of all equipment in the building.
• Overseeing new installations and supervising all Building Services Contractors.
• Ensuring reliability and maintenance of all equipment in buildings and infrastructure.
• Performing first-line repairs on electrical, plumbing, and other building systems.
• Responding to logged calls, e.g., power trips, new plugs, leaks, etc., based on priority.
• Ensuring control of works is in place and adhered to.
• Performing building inspections and audits.
• Maintaining thorough and accurate records of daily activities, equipment status, and operating parameters.
• Being proactive, helpful, using initiative, and willing to work extended hours.
• Willing to travel.
• Performing all activities on time.
