PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: The role is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Data Centre facility in its entirety ensuring client MSA and SLA’s are achieved.

Job Description:

Data Centre Management

1. Comply to working methods ensuring all SLA and MSA’s are achieved.
2. Perform after-hours support for both the Data Centre technicians and Data Centre coordinators.
3. Management of data centre infrastructure to provide a concurrently maintainable, cost effective system supporting 99.999% electrical uptime and 99.99% mechanical uptime.

1. Maintain compliance in accordance to all relative policies and procedures.
2. Meet agreed inter-departmental OLA (Operational Level Agreement).
3. H&S monitoring and corrective action to meet statutory compliance, SLAs and good business practice.

1. Ensure applicable planned and corrective maintenance is managed in accordance to ensure customer MSA’s and SLA’s are achieved.
2. Conduct working methods to maintain agreed PUE levels.
3. Task finalisation and report accurately, as per agreed format, quality and within the agreed timelines.

1. Ensure compliance is maintained incorporating industry best practices.
2. Ensure data centre facilities standards are enforced and maintained.
3. Ensure data centre cleaning standards are enforced and maintained.

1. Good technical abilities.
2. Effective communication skills, active listener – ability to understand requirements.
3. Proactive problem solver, perform rapid and accurate assessments.
4. Ability to work independently, as well as being a positive team player.

11. Good Microsoft Office skills.

1. Electrical qualification preferable.
2. Minimum 5 years relevant data centre experience preferable.
3. Good knowledge on Data Centre environments and critical infrastructure systems preferable.
