Job summary
Liquid Telecom, a leading pan-African telecommunications provider, operates data centre solutions across Africa. The Data Center Operations Manager will lead the Bloemfontein centre, ensuring performance, reliability, and security of hosted services, reporting to the Regional Operations Director.
The role requires 5+ years in data centre operations, a Bachelor’s degree, and strong leadership. It offers growth in a dynamic environment with certifications and opportunities to work with
Qualifications
- Minimum five years managing data centre operations with leadership experience.
- Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, IT or related field required.
- Experience in telecommunications data centres and Tier III/IV standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the Bloemfontein data centre, including power, cooling & network.
- Develop and enforce policies to meet ISO 27001 and Uptime Institute standards.
- Lead incident management, root-cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
- Coordinate capacity planning and forecasting to support growth.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance with minimal downtime.
- Manage vendor relationships and SLAs.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Prepare operational performance reports for senior leadership.
- Mentor and develop technical staff.
