Data Center Electrical Engineer

As a pivotal member of our projects team, you''ll be instrumental in supporting project execution, managing client relationships, and driving innovation in data center infrastructure. Your expertise in electrical engineering will be crucial in integrating design requirements and ensuring the successful delivery of high-level designs.

Position Info: Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with project teams to engage clients and consultant teams effectively.
2. Support projects during the tender process and as part of the solutions team.
3. Develop local resources to strengthen the DC facility business.
4. Promote and present Huawei DC solutions while managing client relationships.
5. Compile bid High-Level Designs (HLD) for electrical systems and infrastructure components.
6. Develop and maintain electrical infrastructure design-build RFPs.
7. Summarize project costs, generate valuation models, and optimize project cost management.
8. Manage external architectural and electrical design consultants.
9. Provide comprehensive support for project management, subcontractor selection and management, and procurement.
10. Demonstrate effective communication and persuasive presentation skills.
11. Prove ability to work in teams and in a structured manner.
12. Utilize market analysis tools and possess basic knowledge of industry trends.
13. Display proven marketing skills with commercial awareness.
14. Show advanced interpersonal skills and conflict management capabilities.
15. Apply goal-oriented analysis and research skills.

Required Qualifications / Experience:

1. Degree in Electrical Engineering is essential.
2. Professional registration is preferred.
3. At least 5 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in data center projects.
4. 5 years of experience in a consulting engineering firm.
5. Design or build experience of two large-scale (1 megawatt or more) Data Center projects.
6. In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering for building construction.
7. Strong awareness of industry standards and emerging technologies related to Data Center facilities.
8. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Revit, and industry-standard electrical modeling software.
9. Experience working with MEP engineering consultants.
10. Ability to think innovatively to find cost-effective solutions.
11. Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards across the Southern Africa region.
12. Excellent communication skills with attention to detail.
13. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and travel internationally as needed.
