Job description

We are looking for a Data Analytics Specialist who will work across Common Good’s EEE strategy, providing sound reports and feedback to enhance internal and external partnerships. The specialist will primarily focus on the Education programme, with support to Early Life and Employment programmes as needed. The role involves collecting, manipulating, interpreting, and visualizing data to foster a data-driven culture. The specialist will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including donors, academic platform providers, and school management teams. The position is based at our offices in Observatory.

We seek candidates with relevant experience and a passion for social justice, city development, and data analysis systems. You should be proactive, self-led, resilient, and a tech enthusiast.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collect, organize, and present data accurately, ensuring completeness.
  • Interpret and analyze data to identify patterns and trends.
  • Report findings to stakeholders.
  • Support partner schools and organizations through visits and technical assistance.
  • Coach stakeholders on data dashboard tools and data interpretation.
  • Generate data for reports, liaising with stakeholders for information gathering.
  • Clean and structure datasets for dashboard integration.
  • Build and maintain interactive dashboards on Power BI.
  • Utilize platforms like Google Sheets, MS Excel, MS Access, Google Forms, and MS Forms.
  • Ensure data privacy and security in accordance with POPI Act and company policies.
  • Collaborate with management to measure programme impact.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, IT, or related field (preferable).
  • At least 3 years of experience in data analytics.
  • Proficiency in Power BI and MS Office Suite.
  • Own transportation for travel between locations.
