Job summary

VML South Africa is seeking a curious Data Analyst Intern to join our analytics team in Johannesburg. You’ll work with data from campaigns to turn raw data into insights that shape client strategies and brand growth.

This hands-on learning role emphasizes thinking and speed to learn over existing knowledge. You'll study toward or have recently completed a degree in Data Science, Statistics, or related fields, with basic SQL/Python, data visualization skills, and a passion for marketing

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in data-related field.
• Foundational knowledge of SQL, Python or R.
• Exposure to data visualization tools and marketing analytics.
• Familiarity with digital marketing platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and organise data from campaign platforms.
• Build and maintain dashboards and reports tracking campaign performance.
• Support measured marketing effectiveness: reach, engagement, conversion, ROI.
• Interpret results and translate numbers into clear visual stories.
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses to answer client questions.
• Assist with data quality checks and process improvements.
• Stay current on tools, trends, and best practices in marketing analytics.
