Position Info: An exciting opportunity exists for a Data Analyst to join our company! This position is mainly based in Irene (Centurion), with occasional travel to our retail stores and manufacturing plants in Heidelberg and Estcourt.
The job purpose is to take guided ownership in designing and modifying business intelligence and MIS systems. The Data Analyst will interact with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand business problems and needs, producing dashboards and analytical solutions.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields.
- SQL querying, BI software (preferably Qlik), and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Experience & Knowledge:
- 1-3 years of experience in a BI environment.
- Knowledge of Meat Matrix system is an advantage.
- Understanding of SQL database concepts and ODBC data connections.
Skills:
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Teamwork skills.
- Excellent report-writing, communication, and IT skills.
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills.
- Knowledge of ERP and accounting systems.
- Proficiency in MS SQL.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Suite.
Job Activities:
- Building and maintaining dashboards & reports.
- Data and financial analysis.
- Data collection, pre-processing, and analysis.

- Assist in audits.
- Master file maintenance.
- Managing users and roles.
- Managing master data, including creation, updates, and deletion.
- Commissioning and decommissioning data sets.
- Designing reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
- Supporting data integrity and normalization initiatives.
- Troubleshooting reporting database environment and reports.
- Reporting and distribution of reports to users and management.
- Assisting with pricing models, margin reports, and cost trends.
- Analyzing data and logging detailed results.
- Training end-users on reports and dashboards.
- Ongoing process constraint analysis.
- Reporting on margins by product and division.
- Cost accumulation tasks as part of target costing.
- Developing and maintaining databases, data systems, and pipelines.
- Analyzing large data sets for trends and patterns.
- Acquiring data from primary/secondary sources and maintaining databases.
- Quality assurance of imported data.
- Providing management reports on factors affecting prices and profitability.
- Presenting data visually.
- Creating reports and presentations for business use.
- Providing rapid feedback on ad-hoc requests.
- Collaborating with programmers, engineers, and management to improve processes and data governance.
