Hello Future Data Analyst (Senior) for FNB SmartWorx

Overview of the role:

  1. Develop and lead a team understanding data sources, data flow, and provide expertise, guidance, and support by translating business needs into innovative architecture solutions, analyzing data, conducting root cause analysis, engaging stakeholders, and recommending improvements to data pipelines, quality, metadata, master data, and access management.
  2. Manage the FNB SmartWorx data piece.
  3. Champion strategic work within the data team for FNB SmartWorx.
  4. Possess good knowledge of REST APIs.
  5. Proficient in Python for analysis.
  6. Have MS SQL experience (non-negotiable).

Ideal candidate traits:

  • Skilled in collaborating with business units and understanding processes and tools.

Data Tools Exposure:

  • Hadoop Distributed File System
  • Hive (non-negotiable)

Responsibilities include:

  • Understanding data sources and mapping to target systems.
  • Providing transformation rules to Data Engineers.
  • Understanding business rules and solving use cases.
  • Ensuring processes meet business objectives and compliance standards.
  • Applying industry knowledge for analysis.
  • Presenting findings to stakeholders.
  • Mapping source systems to enterprise data models.
  • Querying and connecting data from various sources.
  • Conducting analysis, including time-series and classification models.
  • Researching new data sources and analytical tools.
  • Ensuring data quality and engaging stakeholders for corrections.
  • Keeping up with trends and new data assets.
  • Checking data accuracy and reasonability thresholds.
  • Participating in Steerco's and data forums.
  • Providing management reports.
  • Recommending changes to data pipelines.
  • Partnering with stakeholders to understand problems.
  • Engaging with Data teams for landscape understanding.
  • Driving project requirements and solutions.
  • Managing timelines and expectations.
  • Identifying opportunities for analytics solutions.
  • Prioritizing and providing artifacts for projects.
  • Staying informed on trends and providing expertise.
  • Providing thought leadership and coaching.

Requirements:

  • 4-5 years' experience in a similar role.
