Data Analyst

Job Description

Data Preparation:

• Independently acquire data from various data sources and combine & transform data into interpretable datasets, reports, or dashboards.
• Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques, and extend the company’s data with third-party sources of information when required.
• Independently process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis.

Analysis and Visualization:

• Independently interpret data, analyse results using analytical techniques, and provide reports and/or dashboards.
• Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets and use data to answer key questions about the business.
• Own and maintain dashboards, ongoing reporting, and ad hoc requests from the organization.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Work directly with management and other business users to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships.
• Present information using data visualization techniques independently.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, statistics, data or computer science/engineering or equivalent.
• 2-4 years of experience performing data analytics.
• Strong knowledge of reporting packages, databases, querying, and visualizing/presenting data for stakeholder use.
• Tableau / similar dashboarding and visualisation tools: Intermediate to experienced level beneficial.
• SQL coding / similar analysis for data querying and transformation: Intermediate to experienced level beneficial.
• Cloudera, SAP HANA: Exposure to intermediate level would be beneficial.
• Snowflake / similar cloud platforms: Exposure beneficial.
• Any certifications in the above would be advantageous.
• Business experience in financial services is an advantage.
