Job Title: Accountant (6 Months Contract)
Location: Sandton (Hybrid)


Job Description


Role Profile:


The purpose of this role is to support FNZ SA finance function, from playing a part in month end activities and assisting in a variety of day-to-day processes. This role will report to the Finance Manager and requires attention to detail, combined with good communication skills to ensure a high and consistent reporting standard is maintained. The successful candidate will ideally possess a working technical knowledge of accounting standards and will have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging working environment.


Month End Processing:

· Assist with the preparation of month end journals
· Review of bank reconciliations
· Monthly review of accruals and prepayments
· Assist in expenditure review across the ledger
· Assist in preparation of monthly management accounts

Intercompany:

· Assist in preparation of intercompany recharge workings and raise intercompany invoices
· Assist with monthly reconciliation of intercompany
· Liaise with regional finance teams for resolving discrepancies in intercompany balances


AP/AR Processing:

· Assist in the review of purchase orders
· Processing staff expense claims.
· Assist in processing of bank payments
· Prepare sales invoices and posting them to the finance system
· Sending out invoices to customers and communicating with them as required


In addition to the above, there will also be a requirement to contribute to the work of the finance team by taking responsibility for ad hoc tasks as assigned by senior team members.


Experience Required:


Requirement:

· Qualified (SAIPA, ACCA, CIMA, SAICA or equivalent)
· Working technical knowledge of IFRS accounting standards either through previous preparation or experience in audit
· Experience working with finance software (e.g. Nav or D365 or similar) and or data analytic software (e.g. Qlik, PowerBI)
· Intermediate level on Microsoft Excel
· 7-8 years accounting experience
· Good interpersonal skills. This role will involve liaising with various internal and external stakeholders.
· Confident and self-sufficient individual able to manage their own workload effectively to meet deadlines.
· Enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-paced and unpredictable environment and as part of a high-performance team.
· Personal commitment to high quality work
· Able to demonstrate good attention to detail
