The Systems and Software Group offers innovative DeltaV and Ovation Distributed Control System and Open Enterprise SCADA / Control Wave RTU solutions, along with an extensive portfolio of Reliability-centered Solutions. Successful Engineering Management is central to Emerson Solutions delivery.

The Cybersecurity team within Engineering is well supported by the Global Engineering Standards Organization and the Technology to deliver "Project Certainty" to meet our customer's demands. The Senior Engineer – Cybersecurity, is a member of Emerson's Cybersecurity team.

This position focuses on crafting and implementing security solutions based on Emerson's suite of solutions to meet the needs of our customers in the Southern African region.

The role is an integral part of a highly technical team passionate about developing and delivering these solutions. Responsibilities include:

1. Project delivery, including designing and implementing relevant Cybersecurity technical solutions on projects and customer sites, as well as ongoing site-based maintenance activities post-implementation.
2. Performing vulnerability assessments on customer's control systems, developing assessment reports, and suggesting mitigation/ remediation strategies.
3. Reviewing solutions with customers and implementing them on the shop floor for factory acceptance testing and delivery at sites across Middle East, Southern Africa, and the rest of Africa.
4. Implementing recommended mitigation/ remediation strategies & installation, configuration, and tuning of Emerson Cybersecurity solutions.
5. Selecting required components, configuring them, and ensuring solutions meet specifications and customer acceptance.
6. Working with current Emerson solutions including McAfee, Symantec, Acronis, and in-house offerings.
7. Developing a positive environment within the Cybersecurity team for work and professional growth.
8. Supporting Emerson MEA with sales activities as needed.
9. Providing customer support activities, including phone support, field service, remote diagnostics, and collaborating with field support engineers, regional offices, and authorities to resolve issues.
10. Continuously increasing technical capabilities and expertise.

Who You Are?

We seek a candidate for the position of Senior Engineer – Cybersecurity, responsible for project delivery, site service, and maintenance. You will create positive customer experiences by delivering secure systems and solutions that exceed expectations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Technology, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in DCS systems and relevant cybersecurity experience.
• Good understanding of Emerson Distributed Control System requirements and cybersecurity solutions.
• Basic networking qualifications, CCNA or equivalent.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Operating Systems, Windows Domains, and virtualization.
• Excellent communication skills in a formal environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of cybersecurity appliances, applications, tools, and techniques used in DeltaV / Ovation and other applications.
• Familiarity with DeltaV Networking, DeltaV Virtual Studio, DeltaV Cybersecurity, and antivirus solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of ISA / IEC standards and DeltaV Cybersecurity manuals.
• English proficiency; French language skills are an advantage.
