Overview

Introduction to KPMG
KPMG is a global network of professional services firms providing Audit, Tax and Advisory services. Our purpose is to inspire confidence and empower change. We have a notable Africa footprint serving clients across the continent. KPMG One Africa refers to the KPMG firms in the Southern, East, and West Africa regions, comprising 13 countries across three regional clusters: Southern Africa (Botswana, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe); East Africa (Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda); West Africa (Ghana, Nigeria).

We are currently looking for a Cyber Transformation Lead (Alliance-Led).

Position Summary

The Cyber Transformation Lead is an Associate director-level role accountable for converting KPMG\'s Microsoft Security and Cyber alliance pipeline into signed, delivering, revenue-generating engagements across Africa. This role combines senior client-facing presence with deep cybersecurity transformation expertise, owning the end-to-end pursuit and delivery of cybersecurity mandates including SOC deployments, IAM programmes, Zero Trust architectures, and cyber resilience frameworks. The role is a primary revenue contributor within Block A, personally accountable for alliance-attributed cyber revenue and acting as the senior KPMG face to Microsoft\'s security partner ecosystem.

Key Roles And Responsibilities
  • Cyber Pipeline Conversion and Revenue Ownership (45%)
  • Own a personally accountable cyber revenue target within the T&I business, with primary attribution to Microsoft Security and Cyber alliance-originated opportunities.
  • Lead all major cyber transformation pursuits from client qualification through to contract signature, serving as the most senior technical and commercial voice in client meetings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Microsoft\'s security partner team, cloud solution architects, and alliance managers to maintain a healthy joint pipeline.
  • Shape complex cyber mandates - SOC buildouts, IAM transformations, Zero Trust programmes - into commercially viable, KPMG-deliverable propositions.
  • Collaborate with the Alliance Market Lead – Microsoft (Block D) to ensure all cyber pipeline is progressed with the appropriate commercial rigour and bid investment.
  • Delivery Leadership (35%)
  • Lead the delivery of large-scale cybersecurity transformation programmes, including oversight of multi-disciplinary delivery teams, alliance partner resources, and specialist subcontractors.
  • Personally accountable for delivery quality, client satisfaction, and margin on all cyber mandates within the portfolio.
  • Enforce RAID discipline and escalation protocols on all engagements; intervene early on commercial or technical risk.
  • Maintain a library of KPMG-owned cyber delivery assets, methodologies, and accelerators - working with Block E to codify and scale these.
  • Represent KPMG T&I as the senior technical authority in client steering committees and executive project boards.
  • Market and Alliance Development (20%)
  • Contribute to KPMG\'s cybersecurity thought leadership, publishing insights, speaking at industry events, and building KPMG\'s profile in the African cyber community.
  • Support the development of go-to-market propositions with Microsoft that differentiate KPMG in the African market.
  • Mentor and develop the cybersecurity capability within the broader T&I team, building delivery depth and technical credibility.
  • Contribute to the annual T&I planning process with pipeline forecasts, headcount recommendations, and market intelligence.
Academic/ Professional Qualifications And Experience
  • Relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • CISSP, CISM, or equivalent cybersecurity certification required.
  • Microsoft Security certifications (SC-100, SC-200 or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in a client-facing consulting or advisory role.
  • Proven experience delivering cybersecurity transformation programmes (SOC, IAM, Zero Trust, Cyber Resilience) for major enterprise or government clients in Africa.
  • Demonstrated track record of working within Microsoft\'s partner ecosystem to originate and deliver cyber solutions.
Technical Competencies & Personal Attributes
  • Deep technical authority in cybersecurity with the credibility to lead client conversations at CISO and Board level.
  • Alliance fluency: comfortable navigating Microsoft partner processes, co-sell motions, and alliance governance.
  • Commercial mindset: able to translate technical capability into commercially structured, margin-protected proposals.
  • Delivery ownership: personally comfortable owning large cyber programmes end-to-end, not just advising.
  • Communication and influence: able to articulate cyber risk and transformation priorities to non-technical executives.
  • Multicultural agility: able to operate across multiple African jurisdictions and client cultures.
  • Stakeholder management: provide support to various management and leadership levels, as well as work well independently.
  • Personal effectiveness - Excellent report-writing and presentation skills.
  • People management - Leadership & management skills.
  • Performance management - Be a performance manager to the team in line with performance management guidelines.
  • Risk management - lead in ensuring full compliance with KPMG quality & risk management requirements
  • Capacity building - Takes a lead in building capability of team to future proof workforce and full utilization of existing workforce.
We Offer
