Job Description

Are you a skilled Cyber Security Specialist looking for a challenging role in a dynamic environment?

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to lead and implement cybersecurity initiatives across our Africa region operations.

Join us and play a critical role in protecting our digital assets and infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities :
  1. Plan, organize, lead, and evaluate cybersecurity projects and activities across the Africa region in collaboration with management.
  2. Respond to high-priority and complex security incidents, working with service providers to troubleshoot and resolve security-related issues.
  3. Provide expert guidance on the design, implementation, administration, and enforcement of information security controls, including network security, intrusion detection, endpoint protection, and identity management.
  4. Assess risks, design controls to mitigate threats, document control failures, and provide remediation guidance while preparing management reports to track progress.
  5. Offer technical leadership in implementing security controls and best practices.
  6. Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity threats, technological advancements, and security tools to enhance incident response capabilities.
  7. Evaluate emerging technologies and security needs to develop and recommend effective solutions for mining operations/sites.
  8. Oversee and manage service providers and vendors to ensure cybersecurity standards and partnerships are maintained.
  9. Engage in strategic and tactical planning to coordinate the delivery of cybersecurity products and services.
  10. Manage and allocate section budgets effectively while ensuring financial accountability and approval of cybersecurity-related expenditures.
  11. Participate in various meetings, committees, and task forces to communicate updates and opportunities related to cybersecurity.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  13. Promote awareness of SHEC practices and embed a safety culture.
Education & Experience required :
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, risk management, or IT security.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
  • Experience in incident response, risk assessment, and control implementation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple cybersecurity projects and initiatives effectively.
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, A+, N+, S+, MCSE, ITIL 4.0, or related certifications.
  • Mining industry experience is preferred but not required.
