Job summary

Salix Recruitment is partnering with a global organisation seeking a decisive cybersecurity professional to lead incident response and threat remediation within a mature SOC. You will coordinate vulnerabilities, manage patching efforts and optimise EDR and network segmentation to reduce risk.

The role requires hands-on experience, strong collaboration with IT, risk and vendor teams, and a mindset focused on continuous improvement of security controls and incident response capability.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) and a Bachelor's degree in Information Security, CS, IT or related field.
• Certifications: CISSP, GCIH, CEH, CompTIA Security+/CySA+ or relevant Microsoft security certifications are highly relevant.
• Microsoft SC-200, SC-300 and SC-900, with Defender for Endpoint, Sentinel and 365 security tools experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead remediation and recovery of security incidents identified by the virtual SOC.
• Coordinate vulnerability management and remediation across IT and infrastructure teams.
• Drive patch management and ensure vulnerabilities are tracked and resolved.
• Maintain and optimise EDR and network segmentation controls.
• Review incidents, patching activity and remediation effectiveness.
• Improve SOC alert handoffs, workflows and reporting to reduce false positives.
• Develop incident response playbooks and operational procedures.
• Manage third‑party SOC, vulnerability and security service providers against SLAs.
• Support continual improvement of security controls and operational resilience.
• Ensure operations align with security baselines and compliance requirements.
