Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a proactive Project Manager in Gauteng to lead complex customer projects across power systems, electrical infrastructure, automation, and data centers. You will partner with customers, engineers, and operations to ensure safe, on-time, on-budget delivery and the highest quality standards.

You will manage cross-functional teams, drive project performance, and optimize profitability while maintaining exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in a related discipline.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience leading end-to-end customer projects.
  • Experience with SAP ERP or similar enterprise systems and Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project execution coordinating across engineering, operations, service and support.
  • Manage project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and resources.
  • Monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial performance; drive profitability.
  • Manage risks, changes, and contractual commitments; facilitate reviews with stakeholders.

Job description

We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex customer projects across the power systems, electrical infrastructure, automation, and data center sectors.

In this role, you will work at the heart of project delivery, partnering with customers, engineers, operations teams, and business stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

What will you do?
Customer Management:
  • Build trusted relationships with customers and key stakeholders
  • Lead project communications and progress reviews
  • Understand customer objectives and align project execution accordingly
  • Proactively manage expectations and address concerns
  • Drive customer satisfaction through effective project delivery
Lead End-to-End Project Execution
  • Lead project kick-off activities and establish clear execution plans
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, service, and support functions
  • Manage project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and resources
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions when required
  • Facilitate project review meetings and ensure alignment across stakeholders
  • Drive successful project closeout, knowledge sharing, and transition to service teams
Drive Financial Performance:
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency
  • Support project performance reviews and reporting activities
  • Manage project changes and scope adjustments effectively
Manage Risk and Opportunity:
  • Evaluate project risks and implement mitigation plans
  • Monitor project scope and contractual commitments
  • Identify potential issues early and drive resolution with stakeholders
  • Support claims, variation requests, and change management processes where required

Qualifications & Competencies:
  • Passion for issue resolution is KEY!
  • Bachelor's Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in a related discipline
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience leading end-to-end customer projects
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously within: Power systems; Electrical infrastructure; Industrial automation & Data centers
  • Engineering or technical project environments
  • Experience delivering complex projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Familiarity with SAP ERP or similar enterprise systems
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 and collaboration tools
