Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Culinary Operations Specialist to optimize Randburg's catering services. The role focuses on enhancing kitchen workflows, ensuring culinary standards, and supporting the culinary team in delivering high-quality food for events.

You will help maintain food preparation standards, safety, and consistency across all events, contributing to continuous improvement in the catering division.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a culinary role, such as Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Supervisor.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and catering standards.
• Understanding of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP) and kitchen hygiene practices.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to a positive kitchen environment.
• Basic understanding of inventory control and food costing principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating according to recipes and standards.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
• Support inventory management, including stock takes, ordering, and receiving of goods.
• Implement and enforce standardized recipes and preparation techniques to ensure consistency.
• Troubleshoot operational issues in the kitchen and propose solutions to improve efficiency.
• Contribute to menu planning and recipe development by providing operational insights.
