Senior Contracts Manager
Redheads Engineering Solutions is currently recruiting four Senior Contracts Managers to oversee and manage projects from inception to completion. As a Senior Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for planning, budgeting, decision-making, and ensuring that projects align with proposed budgets while adhering to deadlines.

The role involves overseeing company operations to achieve profitability, quality, safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

Duties & Responsibilities

Project Scope: The Senior Contracts Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and progress of projects, including but not limited to:

1. Roads and Earthworks
2. Water and Sewer Reticulation
3. Reservoir and Concrete Works
4. Bulk Water Pipelines
5. Building Works
6. Facilities Management

Key Responsibility Areas

Core Functions:

1. Lead, manage, and develop technical staff to ensure smooth business operations.
2. Provide accurate and timely resources and assets to assist with project implementation.
3. Establish and manage budgets, control expenditures, and ensure efficient use of resources and assets.
4. Analyze complex resource management issues, initiatives, and prepare stakeholder reports.
5. Encourage innovation, cost-effective working methods, and introduce new systems to improve efficiency.
6. Approve costs, including invoices, purchase orders, and final payments spreadsheets.
7. Coordinate weekly activities, such as meetings, procurement, revenue and cost monitoring, and site visits.
8. Direct and oversee all aspects of construction projects, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
9. Collaborate with the SHEQ Manager in developing and enforcing safety standards, policies, and procedures.
10. Ensure required tests are undertaken in a timely manner (Quality Assurance).
11. Advise the Operations Director on Civils Related Contractual and Technical matters.
12. Ensure correct commercial engagement of subcontractors (rates, contracts agreement).
13. Complete and distribute the contract initiation/completion certificate for each project.
14. Ensure weekly review of progress and budget resources, forwarding planning to the Operations Director.
15. Chair and attend internal and external meetings, ensuring accurate records of discussions and actions.
16. Ensure timely management of both temporary and permanent designs to meet project requirements.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Education and Formal Training:

1. Matric
2. BSc / BTech in Civil Engineering
3. Project Management qualification will be an added advantage.

Work Experience:

1. Minimum of 8+ years' experience in the civil engineering and construction industry.
2. Minimum of 8+ years' experience in a commercial environment.

Job-Related Requirements:

1. Must be registered as a Professional Construction Manager with the SACPCMP or Professional Civil Engineering Technician / Technologist / Engineer with ECSA.
2. Contractual knowledge, GCC, NEC, or JBCC.
3. Vast knowledge of forms of contracts.
4. Extensive experience in safety regulations.
5. Knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
