Job summary

A healthcare provider in Vereeniging is seeking a CSSD Technician responsible for ensuring the availability of sterile instruments for the operating theatre and nursing units. The ideal candidate will have Grade 12 education, with a CSSD CPD course as a plus. Responsibilities include ensuring patient safety and adhering to infection control standards. Experience is not required but 2 years as a CSSD Technician is desired. This is a permanent, on-site position.

Overview

Main purpose of job: To provide adequate, functional and sterilized instrument sets and packs to the operating theatre and other nursing units in the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety by providing adequate, sterile and functional equipment on time.
• Ensure optimal care and maintenance of capital equipment to minimize clinical and financial risks.
• Ensure cost-effective use of pharmaceutical stock to meet the daily requirements of the operating theatre and other nursing units
• Ensure Infection Prevention and Control standards are met according to policies and procedures.
• Adhere to standardised workflow processes in order to minimise risks

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Grade 12

DESIRED EDUCATION: CSSD CPD course

Experience

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 2 years experience as CSSD Technician

Required skills and knowledge

• Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
