Job summary

You will manage sailing plans, supervise crew, and maintain navigational charts and equipment. The role demands a minimum of 24 months as a First Officer on cruise ships or private yachts, with valid STCW certification and MMC.

Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months as 1st Officer on cruise ship or private yacht.
• Valid STCW certification.
• Valid Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC).
• Proficiency in navigation and ship handling.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Basic mechanical and technical knowledge.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Captain in managing and operating the vessel.
• Ensure safety and security of all passengers and crew onboard the cruise ship.
• Manage the navigation and steering of the vessel.
• Supervise and train other crew members.
• Maintain and update navigational charts and equipment.
• Monitor weather conditions and adjust course as needed.
• Conduct regular safety drills and ensure procedures are followed.
• Maintain records of activities and incidents onboard.
• Communicate with the Captain and crew effectively.
• Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and company policies.
• Assist with loading and unloading of cargo and supplies.
• Handle any emergency situations that may arise.
