Our client, BioScience Research, situated in Durbanville, has the above position available for a Crop Science Agronomist. The ideal candidate has the ability to generate, analyse and interpret data.

The successful candidate should be able to work and manage projects independently.

The incumbent will be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Establishing field trials according to approved protocols
• Project planning and management
• Generating reliable field trial data in the Western Cape Area of South Africa, aiming for consistently effective product registrations and uses
• Resolving issues in the field and identifying potential opportunities to address needs as required
• Communicating with co-operator farmers willing to participate in field trials on their farms
• Correctly identifying weeds, diseases, and pests in the specific crop where trials are applied
• Evaluating field trials as per protocol and providing updates to Senior Management
• Recording all captured data accurately
• Directly supervising a small team of permanent employees
• All other duties related to this position.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

• Agricultural qualification with Mathematical background / training
• Excellent computer literacy (MS Office)
• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans is essential)
• Valid driver’s license
• A willingness to travel long distances, and be away from home from time to time.
