Job description

  • Team Management : Oversee a team of credit underwriting analysts, offering day-to-day support and guidance.
  • Credit Assessments : Conduct limit and rating setting, as well as re-assessments for a specific portfolio within the global oil marketing division.
  • Financial Analysis : Perform detailed financial analysis, including spreading financial data and assessing credit risk appetite.
  • Portfolio Management : Take responsibility for more complicated reviews involving asset valuations and financial structures (e.g., investments, loans, assets).
  • Monitoring & Reporting : Monitor portfolio triggers, escalate issues as necessary, and report on credit risk performance and sector trends.
  • Sovereign & Sector Analysis : Provide in-depth analysis on relevant sovereigns and sectors.
  • Macro-economic Analysis : Produce and present macro-economic insights and commentary for the portfolio.
  • Cross-functional Reporting : Manage global oil credit risk reporting and communication with senior stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Relations : Build strong relationships with senior management and the commercial credit team.
  • Project Involvement : Participate in local and global credit-related projects.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors Degree (preferably in finance, risk management, accounting, economics, or business studies).
  • Postgraduate qualifications are beneficial.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Chartered Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) are a plus.

Work Experience & Skill Requirements :

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Credit Risk / Credit Underwriting within mining, commodity trading, banking, insurance, or consultancy.
  • Financial analysis experience is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in coding (e.g., VBA, PowerBI, Python) is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a rapidly changing team.
  • Exceptional time management and multi-tasking abilities.
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Numerate with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proactive, committed, and highly motivated.
