Job summary

Network Finance is seeking a specialist credit risk consultant to join a team delivering complex engagements for leading financial institutions across Africa. You will support model development, validation, portfolio analytics, and regulatory initiatives.

You will work with a team of quantitative professionals, actuaries, statisticians, and risk specialists while gaining exposure to some of the industry's most challenging and innovative projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Financial Engineering, Economics, Econometrics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 3-5 years' experience in Banking/Financial Services or Credit Risk Consulting.
• Experience in credit risk model development and validation.
• Understanding of IFRS 9, Basel regulations and model risk management.

Responsibilities

• Develop, calibrate, and enhance credit risk models.
• Perform model validation, monitoring, and testing.
• Deliver portfolio analytics and credit risk insights.
• Support IFRS 9 and Basel-related projects.
• Benchmark credit risk metrics and portfolio performance.

Job Experience and Skills Required

Education

• Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Financial Engineering, Economics, Econometrics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

Experience

• 3-5 years' experience within Banking, Financial Services, Credit Risk Consulting, or a related environment.
• Experience in credit risk model development and validation.
• Understanding of IFRS 9, Basel regulations, and model risk management principles.
• Strong knowledge of PD, LGD, EAD, and credit portfolio analytics.
• Experience working with large datasets and predictive modelling techniques.
• Coding experience in SAS, R, Python, or similar analytical tools.
